WE DID IT!
It was a long year, with some anxious moments, but I am happy to report that the we have achieved our fundraising goal, and the men's tennis team will be around for the next five years. I am thrilled that our players will continue to have the opportunity to compete. Being a part of the tennis team in college was the highlight of my college experience, and I think the guys on the team now feel the same way. The relationships that are forged and the development of each individual as part of the team are just as important to them as the hard work they are also doing in the classroom.
I would like to thank all of our players and their families for their hard work and generosity during the fundraising efforts, and also to friends of the program and our alumni for their contributions. I would also like to thank the many local Aquinas tennis families who have been so supportive of our efforts. These contributors were instrumental in us reaching our goal.
Our efforts are far from complete. A committee has been formed to sustain UW-L men’s tennis far into the future, and also to maintain and make improvements to the UW-L tennis facility. It is our vision to make our facility one that all users can be proud of, and that we can use to enhance and grow not only the UW-L tennis program, but also tennis in general in the Coulee Region. Our fundraising efforts are ongoing, and we are still hoping that more and more people will get involved to insure that the team will be around for a very long time. For all of you who have donated, again, THANK YOU SO MUCH. If you haven't yet, there is still time, and we still need your help. We would love to have everyone involved in keeping men's tennis around forever, and keep checking back here to stay up to date on our team, and our fundraisers.

KWIK TRIP REWARDS: Most of you have heard about the Kwik Trip rewards program, and some of you have been sent brochures on how to join. It’s really an easy way for you to help us, and all we ask of you is that you buy your gas at Kwik Trip and use the card. One of the local high schools in La Crosse makes thousands of dollars on this annually. If we all join, and do a good job using the program, we are able to put far less burden on our players to go out and raise money in the future. If you did join and the rewards are not going to the tennis program, please call Kwik Trip and get it changed! We need your help on this. See the website for more information on how to join this program. PLEDGE SHEETS: Please consider making a multiple year pledge. We are hoping for an annual pledge of $100 over five years, for a total of $500, but will take any amount that people are willing to give. The pledge form is enclosed. Please make copies and give it to anyone who might be able to help. RAFFLE / AUCTION ITEMS: We need “stuff” as well as money. I think we put on a great auction and banquet last year, and the raffle we did mid-year was also successful. We had wonderful items for prizes at our golf outing. We need to continue to have great items to make those events successful. I was so proud of our selection and variety of items that we had this past year, and I want to surpass it for the next round of raffles, auctions, and prizes. Anything you can get your hands on, it doesn’t even have to be sports related, is a big help to us. GET THE WORD OUT: We have tried to reach out to as many alumni and friends of tennis as we can find, but there are alot of potential supporters out there that we don't have any contact information for, and haven't been able to get. It would be great if everyone can keep our cause fresh in their minds and let anyone and everyone know that we would appreciate any help they would be willing to give. We also want to try to get more alums involved with our efforts. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO AND FOR YOUR HELP WITH OUR EFFORTS. GO EAGLES! Save UW-L Men’s Tennis for the Future Fund Five years down, and now we need to start working on year 6 and beyond. Your tax deductable donations can be pledged over any amount of time, and the payments will be due June 1st of each year, or can be set up any way you might like. We're flexible, but we need your help! The UW-L Foundation will send a reminder 30 days prior to the due date of your pledge.
